The 2009 Competition

Every three years, the Foundation of Lower Saxony invites young violinists world-wide to Hannover for the International Violin Competition. It is the highlight of our comprehensive music program.

The 7th Hannover International Violin Competition took place from September 26th to October 10th 2009.

Fumiaki Miura from Japan wins First Prize

Tonight after the Final Concert the Prize Winners were announced in the NDR Broadcasting Center: Fumiaki Miura from Japan is the First Prize Winner. Clara-Jumi Kang (Germany/South Korea) is awarded the Second Prize and Yura Lee (South Korea) is the Third Prize Winner. The Music Critics' Prize goes to Fumiaki Miura. more...
